Account Information: Name, email address, profile picture (via Google OAuth or email sign-up).

Content Data: Stories, chapters, comments, ratings, and reading history that you create or interact with.

Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, reading progress, and session duration — collected to improve the platform experience.

Payment Data: Transaction records for Gem purchases. We do not store credit card or bank details — these are handled by our payment processors (Razorpay, Stripe).

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and maintain the Platform
  • To personalize your reading experience and recommendations
  • To process payments and creator payouts
  • To send notifications about new chapters, comments, and account activity
  • To prevent fraud and ensure platform security
  • To comply with legal obligations (tax reporting, law enforcement requests)

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

  • Payment processors (Razorpay, Stripe, Cashfree) — to process transactions
  • Cloud infrastructure providers — to host and deliver the Platform
  • Law enforcement — when required by law or court order

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure servers with encryption at rest and in transit (TLS/SSL). We implement industry-standard security practices including access controls, regular backups, and vulnerability scanning.

Data is primarily stored in India. If you access the Platform from outside India, your data may be transferred to and processed in India.

  • Correct inaccurate data via your Profile page
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Export your content data
  • Opt out of marketing emails

7. Children's Privacy

StoryVerse is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us immediately.

8. India-Specific Compliance

IT Act 2000: We comply with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the IT (Reasonable Security Practices) Rules, 2011.

Grievance Officer: For privacy-related complaints, contact our Grievance Officer at grievance@storyverse.com. Complaints will be acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect.
